Who Is She?

     I’m a vocalist who blends the smoky allure of a classic Vegas lounge singer with the emotional grit of greats like Etta James and Amy Winehouse. My tone is often described as a mix of Leona Lewis’s clarity and Amel Larrieux’s soulfulness, shaped by the vocal power and phrasing of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Christina Aguilera. Whether I’m fronting a band or recording in the studio, I bring raw energy and deep emotion to every performance — making each one both visceral and unforgettable.

     Musically, I lay R&B grooves over jazz harmonies, rooted in pop sensibility — a sound that’s both sophisticated and accessible. Through my original project, B.A.B.E, I collaborate with some of Canada’s most talented multi-instrumentalists and engineers, working to challenge industry norms by centering women and LGBTQ+ creatives. It’s my way of challenging the music industry’s gender imbalance and creating space where artists like us are included by default, not exception.

     I’m a daughter of immigrants, with South African and Scottish roots, and I bring that global perspective to everything I do. I sing in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Latin, and Polish, and I’ve had the privilege of performing across the U.S., Central and South America, Morocco, and all over Southern Ontario and the GTA. I’m based in Toronto now — originally from Barrie — working as a freelance vocalist, bandleader, and session artist.
